Zsolt Petranyi (born in 1966).
Hungarian art critic and curator, who is mostly interested in new trends of East and Middle-European art. He is currently the director of the Mucsarnok – Kunsthalle Budapest and teaches contemporary art and curating at University of Design, Budapest. After he received his PhD on art history at ELTE University he was the director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at Dunaujvaros – Hungary, where he worked until September 2005. At ICA-D he produced and curated several exhibitions, among them: “Chaos-the culture of Chaos, the Chaos of culture”, “Fever”, Contemporary Hungarian Fashion Photographyon the Month of Photography and “Space”. He had also curated international exhibitions, such as “Cruising Danubio” with Agustin Perez Rubio at Communidad de Madrid, Spain and “The Body of Nefertiti“ Little Warsaw Exhibition at Venice Biennale, Italy and “Leger differe” at Centre d’Art Contemporain, Sete.
